How the scoring system works

🚨 If you see that 2 teams got the same points, do not worry, we we have added a new button explaining what is the criteria applied in order to break the tie 👌

Just click on the League > Groups and the tab called Equity of points:

A new screen will be open showing the following information:

How the set validation works

The system will consider 3 types of sets based on games. Below, you can find a brief explanation of each one and different scenarios:

🎾 Invalid set:

  • One of the teams has a number of games > 7

  • One of the teams has a number of games = 7 and the other has a number of games < 5

  • One of the teams has a number of games <> 0 and the other has a number of games = null

  • Both teams have a number of games = 7

🎾 Completed set:

  • One of the teams has a number of games = 6 and the other has a number of games <= 4

  • One of the teams has a number of games = 7 and the other has a number of games = 5 or 6

🎾 Incomplete set:

  • Both teams have a number of games < 6

🚨 Please keep in mind that decimals are not allowed for matches

Score Validation

The system will validate the score set based on your match configuration. For example:

🎾 Invalid match score:

  • There is an invalid set

  • There is a middle set with an incomplete set

  • There are more the one set incomplete

🎾 Completed match score:

  • One team has won 2 sets and the other team has won 1 set (no incomplete or invalid sets)

  • One team has won 2 sets and the other team hasn’t won any set (no incomplete or invalid sets)

🎾 Incomplete match score:

  • Both teams have won 1 set

  • Both teams have won 1 set and the 3rd set is incomplete

  • No teams have won any set and the 1st set is incomplete

  • One team has won the 1st set

  • One team has won the 1st set and the 2nd set is incomplete

Incomplete Matches

Since ties do not apply for padel and tennis matches, you can decide and personalize the amount of points in case teams don’t reach a final valid result, or alternatively to apply points only by set.

If you decide to go ahead with the last option, points will be calculated according to every set with a sum games > 0, depending if the set is complete or incomplete

How positions work within a group

Each team will occupy a position in the group. If more than two teams have the same points, they will be ordered according to the following rules:

  1. Showdown between teams: if team A beats B, team A will appear in a higher position.

  2. Sets won vs sets lost: if team A has more won sets than team B in their matches, team A will appear in a higher position.

  3. Games won vs games lost: if team A has won more games than team B in their matches, team A will appear in a higher position.

  4. Sets won vs overall lost sets (not just head-to-head): if team A has a greater overall set difference than team B, team A will appear in a higher position.

  5. General won games vs general lost games if team A has a greater overall game difference than team B, team A will appear higher.

  6. If there is a tie, sets win: if team A has won more sets than team B, team A will appear in a higher position.

  7. If there is a tie, games win: if team A has won more games than team B, team A will appear higher.

  8. If everything is matched, alphabetical order by team name.

How moving up/down teams work

You have to configure the amount of teams to be moved up or to be moved down when a round ends. When a round has ended, you can still move the teams manually (drag and drop).

Absence/forfeit scores

League matches are competitive matches, so if one of the teams doesn’t come to play you might need to retrieve points. For example:

  • One Absent Team:

    • The team that missed the match will get deducted “1 Absent Team Point”

    • The team that went to the match get points for “Winner in 2 sets”

  • Double absence:

    • Both teams get points deducted for “Double Absence”
